The workshop will be held at the IDA building (IDA Mødecenter), a 5-star conference center
with a central location at the harbor in Copenhagen. The exact
location is Kalvebod Brygge 31-33, 1780 København V, check the
details in the map below.

::Local Information::
- Latest weather forecast for the Copenhagen area can be found
at the Danish Meteorologic Institute's homepage.
- Note that to pay with credit card, most of the stores will
require that you enter your PIN, if you don't know it, then tell
it to the cashier so you will have the option to sign a voucher
to finish your purchase. All the bigger stores in Copenhagen
take credit cards.
- Denmark does not use the Euro (?) as its official currency
but the Danish Crown (DKK). The exchange rate for 100 DKK is
approximately ?13, £11 and USD 16 (Danskebank).
- Voltage is 220V, 50 Hz as in any other European country.
- Official language is Danish but most Danes speak English.
::Transportation::
To move around Copenhagen by public transport you pay according to
the number of zones you travel. It is recommended to buy a ten trip
card or Klippekort instead of individual tickets as it can
be up to 50% cheaper. The Klippekorts are sold at the kiosks
of almost all stations, at the airport, and some stores (e.g. 7
eleven). From the airport to Copenhagen you will need a ticket for 3
zones.
Here you can find instructions on how to reach the workshop venue
from the airport:
- The easiest way to reach the workshop venue from the airport
is to take bus 5A. The stop name is Lufthavnen,
Ellehammersvej and is located near to the entrance to the
Metro, outside the airport. You should take 5A bus towards Sundbyvester
Plads, get off the bus at Politittorvet stop and
walk towards Bernstorffsgade and turn left. Walk across
Bernstorffsgade street until you reach Kalvevod Bryge.
Then turn to your right and walk across Kalvevod Bryge.
After a couple of meters you will find the workshop venue.
- You can also use the metro. Take the line M2 towards
Vanløse. Get off at Amagerbro St. and get outside
the station. When you reach the surface, turn to your left and
head towards Nordlandsgade. Follow it (about 50 m) until
you reach the corner with Holmbladsgade. There you will
find Amagerbro bus stop. Take bus 5A towards Sundbyvester
Plads and follow the instructions as outlined above.
- If you prefer you can take the S-tran from the airport to
Copenhagen central station (Hovedbanegården) and follow
the instructions below.
Here you can find instructions on how to reach the workshop venue
from Copenhagen central train station:
- Take bus 5A direction Sundbyvester Plads or bus 30
direction Bella Center st and get off at Politittorvet
stop, walk towards Bernstorffsgade street and turn
left.. Walk across Bernstorffsgade street until you
reach Kalvevod Bryge. Then turn to your right and walk
across Kalvevod Bryge. After a couple of meters you will
find the workshop venue.
- You can also take bus 66 towards Operaen and get off
at Kalvebod Br./Bernstoffsg, which is actually over Bernstorffsgade
street. Now follow the instructions above.

::Workshop Dinner at Spiseloppen::
The address of the restaurant is Bådsmandsstræde 43 1407 København,
Denmark. Meeting either 19:30 at Spiseloppen or 19:00 at the Metro
station Christianshavn.
To arrive to the Spiseloppen restaurant, you need to go from the IDA
building (IDA Mødecenter) to Kalvebod Br./Bernstoffsgade bus stop,
then take bus 66 towards Operaen. Get off at Christianshavn St. and
walk as shown in the maps below. Note that the bus frequency is
between 10 to 12 minutes before 19.00 and every 15 min after 19.00.

::Accommodation::
There are plenty of options for accommodation in the city of
Copenhagen. Most of the hotels are located in the city center, close
to central station. Below is a list with links to some hotels
ordered according to its distance to the workshop venue, the closest
being the first one of the list.
You can also use the Denmark specific version of hotels.com to check for hotels near the city
center, but remember also to check the official web site of any
hotel you find, as you may get a better deal. |
